Baby Sai was born May 18th, at 5:30 pm, weighing 9 lbs 5 oz. I knew he would be big (I was a 9 lb baby myself and had heard more than I wanted to from my mother about that). He arrived with brown hair, round cheeks and peeing- a precursor for things to come I'm sure. I've almost forgotten how terrible labor was, almost. Here are some pictures of my precious little bundle on his birthday.
Surprise on the trip home
It was a beautiful day when we drove home from the hospital. I sat in the back seat so I could watch my little miracle, I became a bit teary eyed (ok I was sobbing) at the reality of my new son. As we drove it seemed people were pointing and smiling at us on the road, I thought that they must know somehow about our new beginning... upon arrival home we discovered that in our nervous new parenthood we left our footlong Subway sandwich on top of the car. It was lodged into the rack and blowing like a windsock attracting attention to our one car parade.
