Sai preparing for the WhirlyBall league
In Shoreline there is a place called WhirlyBall. It houses the worlds only totally mechanized team sport. I'm not going to say that it is a magical place, but it somehow seamlessly combines basketball, lacrosse and bumper cars all in one. When I arrived at WhirlyBall last week, I was surprised that I didn't find one child anywhere. Both courts were full of adults having a grand time wheeling around in bumper cars, waving lacrosse sticks in the air. Apparently WhirlyBall specializes in corporate events which was the reason for my attendance. Narayan works for a gaming company downtown and the crew reserved a room to spend the afternoon here, some kind of gamer co-worker bonding thing. The other court had a Microsoft group, and the video games were occupied with other child-at heart-gamer-types... Sai watched his papa through the glass in his ringside seats. I did find out that children are allowed to play WhirlyBall, 8-80 is the age range, so I was thinking, how fun for Sai to have a birthday party here in 7 and a half years. So put it on your calendar.
