A Year in a House

A year ago we bought this house.

I can't believe it's been a whole year, and what a year it was! New house, new year, new baby, new job/non-job.
I feel like I just moved in, in fact I still have 8-10 large boxes that were never unpacked, but I'm sure I need all that stuff...whatever it is...

I've been able to keep the house nice for a whole year *applause*

Now, the baby-proofing has begun...

Once perfectly positioned furniture?
Now it's strategically placed to block cords, electrical outlets and room exits...a fire hazard I suppose...

Antique pottery?
No longer on display, what do I have that stuff for anyway? Dust collecting?

What about the firewood?
It is packed up and sealed in a Rubbermaid container in the living room...you heard me, Rubbermaid for the firewood...ouch

Don't forget the extra wide baby gates, and bright white bumpers on coffee tables and on the fireplace hearth....extra nice!

To top it off, the view around the room is pocked with brightly colored plastic baby toys.

Depending on the number of kids I am blessed with, I figure I have about 8 MORE YEARS OF THIS!

I should have bought a square padded room with only skylights...

Happy New Year!

Wow! Time does fly, it doesn't seem like it was a year ago to me! So, 8 years huh? How many kids ARE you planning on having? ;)
