Everett

We went up to Everett to check out the Imagine Children's Museum that I have heard so many great things about. Auntie Meena and cousin Zachary met us there.

Below is a picture from their website listing the permanent exhibits and a picture of the treehouse. I have a picture from the website because I didn't take any of my own...there was nothing for a crawler to do there. I certainly wasn't going to climb the treehouse and push out all the school age children that ran the place, or take paintbrushes away from budding artists and show them the proper use for a paintbrush is to put it in one's mouth. There were several classrooms on field trips on this Thursday morning, most of the kids were around Kindergarten age with Kindergarten energy.
Don't get me wrong, the museum is amazing, the exhibits are beautiful, lot's of creative play and hands on science exploration. I would have happily put Sai down and explored the place myself. But, there is just one area designated for young ones, an elevated climbing firetruck for ages 0-5...uh, ..yeah...only a tiny difference between a 4.5 year old and an 8 month old..right.

So anyway, I will keep this one on the back burner until he is at least 2. Great place, for bigger kids.

We actually spent most of our time downstairs in the cafeteria (hence the pictures in the highchairs). Impressive job eating grapes with a fork Zachary! I don't think I can even do that!

After the museum, Sai and I met up with Auntie BB for lunch. Then we got the tour of lovely downtown Everett...the courthouse, the jail...the people they let out of the jail with nowhere to go...Did you know that you can get a ticket for jaywalking here? Amazing, there are no cars on the road but you have to wait at the intersections and pay for parking. Perhaps if they put a courthouse and jail into the Children's Museum to mimic the "real" downtown, our future leaders may have a more realistic concept of society's problems and how to fix them...just a thought :)
We also went up to BB's office where Sai received adoring of attention from her coworkers. It was great seeing her at lunch, someday we may invest in a Children's Museum pass when Sai is old enough to knock over toddlers on his way to the glow-in-the-dark-room.
Enjoying some toast and tomatoes for lunch (this is what the restaurant had on hand for an early table-food eater).
