NO!

We haven't been lighting fires lately in the house due to the very curious and highly mobile 10 month old that lives here. When I say "NO" to my kid, as in "NO, don't touch the fire", or "NO, don't go near the stairs" he looks at me and laughs and then proceeds to do the same action which caused the loud and very hilarious "NO" shouting.
It's that action-reaction thing. Reach out for the fire, and mom gets a funny look on her face, big eyed and probably red (I imagine), she starts shouting, and waving her arms wildly. How much more fun can things get? Then of course I melt at the site of his cute 7 dimpled smile and I can't help but smile too. It a vicious cycle. I think this is why my students used to do things that drove me crazy and made me furious, just to see my reaction, only they weren't so cute when they did them. So, anyway, we don't do fires.
