I Say Banana

I've just been so bombarded with Sai blog readers disappointed with the lack of recent posts. Enough with the emails, calls, letters, faxes etc! Sheesh people can't I get a break? Here is an update.

Sai is one now and he is becoming more of a handful colorful, involved independent little person everyday. He lets me know what he wants, and doesn't want, verbalizing his discontent with ear piercing squeals and ogre grunts. But ahhh... he can say banana! So I give him banana, and then another banana when he asks later. I am trying to reinforce the talking (which he does very little of) so we eat a lot of bananas around here. The Dr. said he should be saying more by 15 months. She said he has been focusing on the walking. (50th percentile height and weight btw).

His fine motor skills however, are superb! Above he has a fly that he caught between his finger and thumb. Very good Daniel Son.

Below he is playing with Eli at our water/sensory table.
I bought a little used cheap side table and Narayan cut a hole in it to match the size of a shallow plastic bin. Instant water table! Now, if only the sun would come out....
The lid is a nice size for bubbles and I have extra bins for other stuff: one is for sand, another for other general messy outdoor play (leaves, shaving cream, paints, beans, touch tank, dirt etc.).
I am currently touring Day Cares. Hopefully I will find something I like. After working in good and bad childcare places I know what I'm looking for, and I haven't found it. Perhaps I will write a review soon. Other things swirling around in my brain: How am I going to go camping with the Sai this year, Should I buy recreational property somewhere, Should I get a nanny, Am I ever going to love teaching as much as I used to, When will the sun come out, Is Sai going to wake up before I finish this blog post, Why am I eating top ramen, for god sakes I'm not in college anymore.
