Summer is Almost Over

Here we are in September and the days are still sunny (mostly). I was stuck behind a school bus yesterday, terribly late, I was forced to watch all the kids hop off the bus in their new school clothes to head home. It made me think about the excitement on the first day of school, normally a big event in the life of a teacher, but not this year. I have been pretty successful at forgetting about all the bustle. Here are a few summer pictures and events that I failed to report on earlier.

Cool summer shades

Narayan keeping Sai warm on the 4th of July on Vashon.

Cousin Ella's 3rd birthday party. I think it was like 85 degrees that day.

Sai got some attention too.

Cousin Zachary sampling the birthday hat.

Hanging out with baby Emily

Emily took some interest in Sai's ear.

Our first camping trip. We went up Icicle creek near Leavenworth trying to find a campsite (no reservations in hand). Too bad they were all full. We ended up "camping" at an RV turnout along the road. We were a little disappointed that you have to have a dang reservation to go camping, but we really just wanted to try out our new gear and see how sleeping in the van went with baby before our big trip later in the summer.

On day two of the trip we hung out at the beach at Lake Wenatchee. Don't ask me why we are all leaned over, I think it had something to do with using the camera timer and trying to get in the shot.

Hazel's 1st birthday party.

True to the theme, Sai got a rainbow painted on his face.

Taj can handle 3 babies, Sai, Emily and Violet.
